The Borussia Dortmund U23s will return to SIGNAL IDUNA PARK for the first time in over nine years on Saturday (9/4). Kick-off against Viktoria Berlin is at 14:00 CET.

Due to construction work at Stadion Rote Erde, the Black & Yellow youngsters will play their remaining three games at the first team's stadium. "It'll be a big moment, we're really excited," explained midfielder Marco Hober while visiting a club in the local area. During the week, players from the U23 squad paid a visit to one or two football clubs in Dortmund and had a kick-around with the kids. Free tickets for the match on Saturday were handed out as a surprise.

Last weekend, the Black & Yellows brought a run of five consecutive defeats to an end, with captain Franz Pfanne and striker Richmond Tachie scoring the goals in a 2-0 victory away to Viktoria Cologne. "We deserved it," BVB coach Enrico Maassen told his charges afterwards. "We're very happy to have won the game." The BVB U23s were rewarded for a solid defensive performance and courageous attacking play in Cologne. After two days off, preparations for the next match got under way. The game will represent a debut appearance at SIGNAL IDUNA PARK for the majority of the team.

Opponents Viktoria Berlin will travel to Dortmund full of self-confidence, having beaten league leaders Magdeburg 2-1 in their last league outing and reached the Landespokalfinale too. However, the win against Magdeburg was their first in the league in 2022. Coach Farat Toku's charges had been on an 11-game winless streak beforehand. Toku has been in the role since the start of March, having previously spent a long time in the dugout at Wattenscheid 09, with whom he faced the Black & Yellows several times. But the 41-year-old did not win any of his eight match-ups. Viktoria Berlin will be without top-scorer Falcao, who is missing through suspension. There will also be a reunion with our former player Cebrail Makreckis, who moved to the capital over the winter.

Tickets for the match can be bought online via the Ticket Shop and via the box office on Saturday. Tickets are priced at €5. Spectators can purchase standing tickets in the South Stand and seated tickets in the West Stand.
