28 BVB players arrived at the training camp in Bad Ragaz on Friday and completed their first training session in Switzerland in the afternoon. Salih Özcan is suffering from bruising and will make the trip in the evening due to medical examinations.

After a minor delay this morning, the plane took off for St. Gallen-Altenrhein, where the two team buses were already waiting on the tarmac for the players. The journey to Bad Ragaz took around three quarters of an hour, with the first session at the "Ri-Au" sports facility pencilled in on the agenda from 16:30 CET onwards.

As they do every year, the players cycled from the hotel to the training ground and were met by numerous BVB fans on arrival. Following a two-year pandemic-enforced break, the training session was open to the public again, with the supporters in attendance applauding the players as they came out onto the pitch.

BVB coach Edin Terzic divided the players into two groups: the ones who had participated in the friendly in Verl the evening beforehand joined the injured players for a warm-up and a work-out in the fitness tent; the other group, including the internationals who had commenced pre-season at a later date, trained with the ball at their feet and were put through various game scenarios. (cr)
