A strong start saw the Borussia Dortmund women's football team win their top match against TuS Eichlinghofen by a 5-0 scoreline. Vanessa Kuhl and Ana Louisa Zabell both notched a brace, before Lea Rogge-Herper subsequently rounded off the scoring in an impressive win over last season's Bezirksliga runners-up.

Borussia Dortmund and TuS Eichlinghofen went into their Matchday 4 clash as the only teams yet to concede a goal. But the visitors lost that record after only three minutes when Lea Auffenberg played the ball into the path of Mandy Reinhardt on the right and she spotted Vanessa Kuhl at the back post, who easily slotted home the early opener.

Coach Thomas Sulewski had made four changes – Klemann, Fälker, Bergmann and Zabell replaced Gerres (flu), Pörteners, Becker and Billig (all substitutes) – to the line-up. And one of the new faces, Ana Louisa Zabell, made it 2-0 on 16 minutes. A move involving Reinhardt and Grothe culminated in Zabell slotting home a low, first-time left-footed strike from a central position 18 metres out. Within two minutes, it was 3-0. This time Mandy Reinhardt was played in by Marie Grothe, and she played another intelligent square-ball to tee up Vanessa Kuhl at the back post. It was the seventh goal of the season for Dortmund's current top-scorer.

"We started really strongly, played well together and implemented exactly what we had practised in training," said Mandy Reinhardt, who was involved in all three goals. "The first 20 minutes was the best we've played this season," concluded coach Sulewski.

Rogge-Herper: "We were solid and gave nothing away"

The Black & Yellows slightly lacked purpose up until the break as the rain continued to pour down in Dortmund, but they started the second period with even greater momentum. Like in the first half, Ana Louisa Zabell found herself in a central position in front of goal 18 metres out after a one-two with Marie Grothe, and this time picked out the bottom right corner (55). Dortmund's Kreisliga champions could have increased their margin of victory even more in the period that followed, only for Zabell to strike the upright (63) and Annika Billig to be denied by the opposition goalie (73).

The fifth goal was eventually scored by Lea Rogge-Herper. The goal was preceded by a fine solo run from Lisa Klemann, who danced her way past half of the opposition defence and fizzed in a cross for Rogge-Herper to tap into the back of the net (74). "I was already on my way in another direction and then I took a step backwards and that put me in the right place in the truest sense of the word," said Lea Rogge-Herper as she reflected on the goal for 5-0.

Coach Thomas Sulewski praised his players for their performance at full-time. "That was a very mature performance for long spells of the game." He believes it stands his team in good stead for their next top match this coming weekend. The BVB women will be away to TuS Germania Lohauserholz, who have also won every single match this season. "We were solid today and gave nothing away. If we do exactly that next Sunday, we have a good chance of winning against Lohauserholz as well," said Lea Rogge-Herper, as she looked ahead to the clash between the two promoted teams.
