Never before have Borussia Dortmund lost at the Estadio Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán. They drew 2-2 back in 2010 and then won 3-2 in the 2020/21 season. Early on Tuesday evening, the team wrapped up preparations for the third game away to Sevilla FC in club history. They intend to deliver a completely different performance than they did on Saturday in Cologne.

The team meeting on Monday was not the most light-hearted, Julian Brandt revealed with a bittersweet expression. Edin Terzic spoke of "dealing openly and honestly with the issues that have been with us for some time", of sloppiness that has allowed opponents into games, that has prevented the team from getting results. "We need a certain level of stability if we're going to be successful in games," concluded Terzic.

Brandt now considers the job to consist of "flipping the switch to approach the game with new energy and a positive aura. It's a good chance to turn the tide in our favour. We are now in the middle of the English weeks. You're not going to be able to put failure behind you overnight, but the best thing to do is to bounce back and return to winning ways as soon as possible."
