At the press conference, Edin Terzic spoke about the team's performance, reaching the last 16, Mats Hummels, and Thorgan Hazard.

Edin Terzic on the balance of play and qualification for the last 16:
We produced a very decent performance in the three previous games against Manchester City but didn't defend cleanly and clearly until the end. We managed that well today. The key was that we gave away few goalscoring chances. The penalty situation was the only time that we didn't manage to keep them away from our goal. But then Greg was on hand and kept us in the game. It was a very coherent and good team performance. I'm not just referring to the defence there, but the attack too. We repeatedly created danger in the first half. We would've deserved to take a lead in at the break. It was a good performance – not only today, but in all five games. That's why we're deservedly through to the knockout stages.

…on Mats Hummels' performance:
Mats is looking very stable and fit. He played an outstanding game, won a great many challenges and repeatedly drove forward into midfield. But he wasn't the only one. He complemented Nico Schlotterbeck very well, and to also bring Niklas Süle into the equation, who played at full-back today: all three central defenders are having a great season.

…on Thorgan Hazard's role:
Raphael Guerreiro felt the back of his thigh in the closing stages of the game against Stuttgart. We treated him for two days and tried to put it under strain this morning. It wasn't ready for him to play. Thorgan Hazard embraced the challenge and performed really well. He was disciplined in defence, showed good timing and put the opposition under pressure from their very first touch.
