Players Niklas Süle, Gregor Kobel, Emre Can and Julian Brandt shared their thoughts on the victory in Leverkusen. The match reactions.

Niklas Süle (to BVB TV): "We produced a very good performance tactically and gave hardly anything away, especially in the first half. And we stuck to the plan. Off the ball in particular, it was very disciplined from every single one of us. We knew that we would get one or two counter-attacking situations from the opponent. We made use of one of them. We had to invest a lot in the second half too. Fortunately, we managed to get the second goal. An amazing victory. As a defender, I'm even more pleased to have kept a clean sheet away to such a strong opponent."

Gregor Kobel (to DAZN): "We've conceded too many goals in our last games. It's a great sign that we've now finally kept a clean sheet again. But it cannot now be like in the first half of the season in that we sometimes keep a clean sheet; rather, we must keep it up. We still have room for improvement, but we've now shown that we can also win tight games."

Emre Can (to BVB TV): "We did not start well and switched things around a bit after 20 minutes. Then things got better. We scored the goals at the right times and deservedly won in the end too. The passion was class. It was important that we embraced every challenge. We see how close the table is. The victory was very important."

Julian Brandt (to BVB TV): "A 2-0 in Leverkusen is an untypical result, but exactly what we need. Winning on the one hand, but also keeping a clean sheet and giving little away. We tried to get stuck in as much as we possibly could. We're growing from such victories. It's been a good January which we can take a lot from. We now have a week ahead of us in which we can work on several details in training. That's slightly difficult in English weeks. We now have a home game with hopefully a top atmosphere and we want to continue the trend there." (br)
