A goal and an assist from Henrikh Mkhitaryan helped Borussia Dortmund beat Nuremberg 3-0 on Saturday. In a post-game interview, he shared his view on his and the team’s performance.

You really had to work hard for your goal after being denied by the outstanding Schäfer on more than one occasion. Had you already given up on scoring today?

Schäfer made some great stops to deny me, but I didn’t give up and always believed I could score. It worked out in the end and I was even able to create one. I’m very happy about it.

Did the team show the right reaction to the defeat to Hamburg last week?

We did everything to get the three points today. Last week’s match against Hamburg was no longer on our minds, but the good game against St Petersburg in mid-week was. We only think about the last and the next game. In the end, it was a fully deserved win for us.

BVB have climbed back to second spot in the table. Is that the place where you belong?

There's still a long way to go until the end of the season and a lot of games to be played. We will need to win as many games as possible to retain that spot. The season is still long, and we still have a lot of tough work to do.
