“We made a statement,” said Jonas Hofmann, and Robert Lewandowski stated: “We scored three goals and allowed Nuremberg only one scoring opportunity.” The post-match reactions to BVB’s 3-0 over Nuremberg

Jonas Hofmann: “It was a fully deserved win. We played very well, our counter-pressing game was well executed and we scored beautiful goals. Of course I’m also happy that I was able to provide an assist to help the team win. We wanted to make amends for last week’s defeat to Hamburg and we achieved that. We made a statement, and we can build on this.”

Robert Lewandowski: “We scored three goals and allowed Nuremberg only one scoring opportunitiy, thus it was a good performance by us and we are very pleased. I’m happy about my goal as I want to score many goals. We are now back in second place where we wanted to be. But the season is still long and there’s still a lot of work to do to retain this spot.”

Manuel Friedrich: “It was a great display by the whole team and a deserved win. I’m particularly pleased for Mats as he was able to return with a great performance which he capped with a goal. He’s a great character and an outstanding centre-back.”

Roman Weidenfeller: “We already had a number of good chances in the first half, and in the second half we scored the first goal at the right time. It was especially important that we kept a clean sheet and didn’t allow many chances. That’s why it was a fully deserved win.”
