For the fourth time in the history of the Bundesliga, the top scorer award went to a Borussia Dortmund player: Robert Lewandowski secured the coveted prize with 20 goals.

The Poland striker received the award from kicker magazine’s Jean-Julien Beer straight after the final whistle at Berlin’s Olympic stadium where he had before scored two goals to help his side to a 4-0 win.

Lewandowski is following in the footsteps of Lothar Emmerich, who topped the scoring charts in the Bundesliga in 1966 and 1967 with 31 and 28 goals respectively, as well as Marcio Amoroso who claimed the award with 18 goals in 2002.
