Marco Reus was the best player in the first half of the 6-1 win over Armenia but with two minutes of the half remaining he was caught by Artur Yedigaryan and seemed to twist awkwardly as he fell. Diagnosis: a partial ligament tear in his left ankle.

Reus was treated on the field for several minutes and was visibly distressed before limping off the field supported by the medical staff. He was immediately taken to hospital for examinations of the ankle. The injury is a partial ligament tear of the left ankle, as reported by the German (DFB) FA “It is as yet unclear if the injury sustained by the 25 year-old Dortmund striker will affect his participation in the World Cup.
