The Signal Iduna Park remains a happy hunting ground for the German national team. In their opening Euro 2016 qualifier the reigning World Champions beat Scotland 2-1 (1-0).

However, the result was overshadowed by an injury to Marco Reus which he picked up in time added on. The BVB star seemed to be in great pain and as he hobbled off the pitch at the end of the game, it didn't look too good.

Update: German coach Joachim Löw told RTL: "We don't know for definite yet, but it doesn't seem as bad as we first feared. We shall have to see what the tests show."

Five days after the 4-2 defeat to Argentina, of the five BVB players that were on the field at the end of that game, just two were in the starting line-up for this game; Erik Durm and Reus. Matthias Ginter came on for Reus for the last seconds of the game while Roman Weidenfeller and Kevin Grosskreutz remained unused substitutes.

Reus was particularly effective in a first half of top class football. He twice tested the Scottish ‘keeper (26/61 mins.) and it was his corner that led to Thomas Müller’s winner.

Left back Durm was also prominent, shooting wide on 15 minutes and creating a great opportunity for Müller in the opening phase of the game.
