Jürgen Klopp had already announced that he would make changes to the team for Tuesday’s cup tie at FC St. Pauli (KO: 2030 CET, live on ARD and SKY as well as BVB Netradio). The Dortmund coach was true to his word and reshuffled his side.

Borussia Dortmund will go into the game with six changes to the starting side from Saturday’s game against Hannover. “Some players are overworked,” Klopp said on Monday, adding, “We just can’t let them play every game.” Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who has played 12 games for BVB and his country since 13 September, has been left in Dortmund to rest, just as Ilkay Gündogan who also has a minor groin problem.

As in the first-round tie at Stuttgarter Kickers (3-1), Mitch Langerak will deputise in goal for Roman Weidenfeller while Sokratis will move over from left – as against Galatasaray – to left back, replacing Lukasz Piszczek. Sebastian Kehl will take the place of Sven Bender, with Shinji Kagawa and Kevin Grossreutz replacing Aubameyang and Gündogan whilst Ciro Immobile gets the nod ahead of Adrian Ramos to play up front.

BVB’s line-up: Langerak – Sokratis, Subotic, Hummels, Durm – Kehl – Mkhitaryan, Kagawa, Großkreutz, Reus – Immobile
