Dear fan club chairman, dear fan club members,

We can look back on a year full of challenges for us all. We are still dealing with a global crisis that is affecting every one of us.

Something we could never have imagined has happened: Except for a few exceptions, our BVB games had to be played behind closed doors without you, the fans. Not only does the team miss your usual vociferous support in the stadium, but many of you miss the many positive experiences we have had in recent years – as do we.

The effects of the Coronavirus pandemic have also caused some tumultuous months in our Fan Relations Department. The existing formats had to be made digital for the first time and new digital offerings had to be created. For example, the fan delegation meeting in summer was held via live stream for the first time. Fans competed at the fan club FIFA tournament on their own consoles or took part in the fan club competition with their most beautiful fan club archive photos. Unfortunately, the fan club Christmas party had to be completely cancelled, but a digital fan club Christmas event was offered as an alternative.

We are, of course, aware of the fact that football is still not the top priority in this period. Nevertheless, we hope that we have been able to bring you a little joy with our digital offerings.

As we approach the end of the year, we would like to thank you once again for your loyalty and support – especially in these difficult months of the Coronavirus pandemic. The positive contributions of many members of the BVB family to society, be it through donations or through social commitment, was more than impressive and shows once again that Borussia Dortmund can be proud of its Black and Yellow fan community. Without you, BVB would not be the club it is!

Despite these special circumstances, we wish you and your families a merry Christmas and a happy new year!

Stay healthy and take care of yourselves and your fellow human beings! We hope to see you soon.

Your Fan Relations Department
