Sports streaming provider DAZN is launching a new indoor football format with the Infinity League. Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich, among others, will take part in the first edition on 26 May 2024.

With a mix of men's and women's football, modern technology, music, media and entertainment, DAZN are looking to create a new football format that combines sport and entertainment. The Infinity League will bring together male and female teams from the two Bundesliga clubs at BMW Park in Munich on 26 May 2024. Other teams taking part include Delay Sports Berlin, an influencer soccer team founded by streamers Elias Nerlich and Sidney Friede.

The one-day tournament will see mixed teams consisting of legends, up-and-coming players and ambitious content creators playing at least at a semi-professional level all competing against each other. Each participating club will send one men's and one women's team. Each match will last 20 minutes (2 halves of 10 minutes each) and there will be a group phase followed by the final and 3rd place play-off. In each match, the men's and women's teams will play each other for one half.

An interactive GlassFloor playing surface will graphically combine video technology with gamification elements. With further innovations such as the use of 5G technology or body cams and microphones, DAZN are looking to bring viewers even closer to the pitch. In addition, DAZN employees will moderate discussions in the "DAZN FanZone" and enable live voting among viewers if there are any controversial decisions, for example.

DAZN is also cooperating with other partners on this project: major label Warner Music and music publishing house Warner Chappell will be the music partners of the Infinity League. Sports magazine kicker will report extensively on the tournament as a media partner.

The Infinity League can be streamed free of charge in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Luxembourg and Liechtenstein via the DAZN app, on the linear TV channels DAZN 1 and DAZN 2 as well as on free-to-air TV on partner TV channel DF1 and will also be shown on all relevant social media platforms and the channels of media partner kicker. DAZN will also broadcast the Infinity League live worldwide via its app in over 200 markets and regions free of charge.
