On Sunday (6 March), BVB will travel to play Mainz in the Mewa Arena. The match will start at 15:30 CET and the stadium will open two hours before kick-off. Around 1,800 fans will support the Black and Yellows in Mainz.

Getting there
Arriving by train
A shuttle bus will be operating from the central station (Hauptbahnhof) to the Mewa Arena.

Arriving by bus/VW van
For buses and VW vans there is parking available near the away section (car park P9).
It can be accessed only via Koblenz Straße (exit Lerchenberg).
The cost is €20 per bus and €10 for VW vans.

Arriving by car
There is only a limited number of parking spaces available for cars in car park P9 at the Mewa Arena. The cost is €5 per car.
The free park-and-ride service at the exhibition centre (Geneva Allee, 55129 Mainz) is available as an alternative. Numerous park-and-ride shuttle buses run from the exhibition centre.
In Mainz there is an environmental zone, which vehicles can only enter if they have the corresponding green badge. The car park at the exhibition centre is excluded from this.

Admission to the stadium

  • The stadium will open two hours before the game
  • Bags will be checked, and fans will undergo a pat-down check in a cordoned-off area in P9 directly next to the away entrance
  • The 2G rule applies for visitors to the stadium in Mainz
  • The following persons are considered to have recovered: Persons with proof of past infection (no more than three months ago). If the infection was more than three ago, proof of vaccination (Biontech / Moderna) is necessary
  • Persons are considered to be vaccinated if at least 14 days have passed since the second vaccine dose (for J&J one vaccination + second vaccination with Moderna or Biontech necessary)
  • The 2G check will take place directly at the entrance. All documents should ideally be provided digitally on your mobile phone (not on a cracked screen). You must bring a personal ID with you. 
  • Wearing a medical mask is a prerequisite for admission to the stadium. In the away section, masks must be worn at the entrance, in the areas around the stadium and in the stands and may only be removed while eating or drinking.

Permitted fan merchandise

  •  Flags with a pole length of up to 2 m
  • Two-poled banners
  • Fence flags (must not be hung over the advertising hoardings in front of the away section)

Permitted items

  • Bum bags, gym bags, bags purchased inside the stadium

Prohibited items

  • Backpacks and video cameras larger than 30 cm x 30 cm x 15 cm
  • Professional photo cameras with interchangeable lenses with a focal length of over 200 mm and other interchangeable lenses, as well as video cameras

Other information

  • Extract from the stadium rules: "Visitors are still prohibited from bringing in: (…) constructions and facilities not intended for general use, in particular façades, fences, walls, enclosures around the pitch, barriers, lighting systems, mounted cameras, trees, masts of all kinds and roofs suitable for climbing on (…) Any violation of this may result in a stadium ban."
  • Backpacks and bags larger than 30 cm x 30 cm x 15 cm can be dropped off free of charge before admission.
  • There is no fixed blood-alcohol level limit for entry to the stadium, but clearly drunk people will not be admitted.
  • You cannot bring drinks in with you. The exception is Tetra Paks up to 0.25 l.
  • In the away section, you can only use cashless means of payment, namely a cash card, EC (debit) card or credit card. It is also possible to pay with Google Pay and Apple Pay.
