2023 is drawing to a close. It's time for the BVB Wunschbaum (wishing tree) campaign to get underway once again and bring joy to many disadvantaged children.

Just like in previous years, Dortmund residents have the opportunity to make a Christmas wish come true for an economically disadvantaged child in the run-up to Christmas, with the help of a wish list. Organisations were invited to apply to take part in the campaign back in the summer. A total of 25 organisations registered, with over 2,300 children's wishes submitted. Once the application phase was over, the blank wish lists were sent to the participating organisations and filled in by the children.

The wish lists can now be collected from all BVB fan shops (also in Essen and Oberhausen) and from the Berswordt-Halle on Friedensplatz. Wish fulfilers can drop off their purchased gifts on the following dates:

• In all BVB fanshops in Dortmund up to and including 6 December.

• At the BVB fan section information stand at SIGNAL IDUNA PARK: 7 December and 14 December, between 16:00 and 20:00, as well as before the home matches against Borussia Mönchengladbach and Leipzig (please check the fan section's social media channels for timings).

• In the Berswordt-Halle on Friedensplatz: Friday, 1 December, 8 December and 15 December, between 10:00 to 17:00; Saturday, 2 December and 9 December, between 10:00 to 14:00.

Unfortunately, gifts can no longer be accepted after this date. Gifts must be handed in unwrapped. The ID on the wish list is important. Only then can the gift be allocated to the correct child. A gift should not exceed a value of approximately €30. Unfortunately, personalised greetings or sweets are not permitted.

Further information on the campaign can be accessed here!

If you do not have the opportunity to buy a gift yourself, you can also support the BVB Wunschbaum campaign by making a donation to the BVB foundation. Please note in the "Message" field that the donation is intended for the BVB Wunschbaum campaign.

So: be quick, pick up a wish list and then hand it in on one of the dates mentioned. That way, all the children taking part have a chance of having a small wish come true over the festive period.
