Honey harvest with the "Borsig Bees"
Since 16 April 2022, exactly on the birthday of BVB mascot EMMA, the "Borsig Bees" have been living in Borsigplatz in the northern part of Dortmund.
The busy insects are part of an ecological project supported by BVB in partnership with VIVAWEST and GrünBau gGmbH. The aim is to get children and young people from Dortmund's Nordstadt area to be more enthusiastic about nature and to learn about and understand conservation and the connections between different native species. At the same time, the children have the opportunity to harvest the "EMMA honey" for themselves using a spin extractor and to bottle it for consumption. The limited number of jars of this fully natural product was shared out among the participating helpers.
