Foundation annual report 2020/21

37 projects supported, a total over 370,000 euros distributed in funding, two new flagship projects and a new organisational concept: this was the summary as the BVB foundation ''leuchte auf'' ended another challenging, Coronavirus-affected year on a positive note. Above all, the focus was on solidarity and unity with the Black & Yellow family - not least in helping those affected by the catastrophic flooding in North Rhine-Westphalia and Rhineland-Palatinate.

Helping the victims of the natural disaster was a matter of great importance for everyone at BVB. In addition to a charity match BVB played in Hagen in September - the proceeds of which were donated to the city of Hagen to fix flood damage - "leuchte auf" also worked alongside the BVB fan council and the "Südtribüne Dortmund" alliance to help charitable institutions and clubs that suffered damage in the floods.

Over the past year, the foundation also placed considerable focus on increasing its visibility and appeal. To this end, two new flagship projects - the "BVB Learning Garden" and the "Nordstadtliga" - were incorporated into the foundation's work. In addition, the foundation's impact focus was expanded to include five key guiding principles.
