The goal deserved the title "dream goal". The way, in the 38th minute, he turned Roel Brouwers, the way he instantly fired off a shot that arrowed straight into the corner of the net, unstoppable for Galdbach´s ´keeper Bailly was simply sensational.

The number of people doubting the 24-year-old was growing following his dream debut when he scored against Koblenz in a friendly, then against Weiden in the cup. With no goal since then the question was very much whether we were wirnessing another South American who didn´t quiet hack it in the Bundesliga.

On 38 minutes Barrios spins Brouwers to score the only goal of the game from 20 yards out.

Following events on Saturday evening everyone can breathe a little easier. The rest, imposed by his coach, seemed to have done Barrios good and he seemed up to the pace of the game and full of running. His two goals in the cup against Karlsruhe gave the club a good crack at good money, and now his goal on Saturday earned his team three vital points in the Bundesliga.
Mats Hummels, his team-mate put it like this, "He has handled the pressure well. We are happy that he has now scored in the league because it is important that he knows he can do well at the highest level too."
Lucas Barrios has now scored four goals in competitive games for BVB which is not a bad record and repays the faith shown in him by his coach. In turn each goal pays off a portion of his transfer fee.
