The Department for Supporters’ Affairs is a part of the limited company. It is responsible for a wide variety of tasks that are divided among nine full-time fan representatives. They are the first points of contact for any concerns fans may have with regard to BVB. Daniel Lörcher is head of the department. He has been active as a fan representative since 2013.
Borussia Dortmund has a large and varied supporters’ community that continues to grow steadily. In order to be able to deal most effectively with all the subsequent increase in tasks involved, the team of fan representatives has grown larger in recent years, and never stops evolving. The department is subdivided according to two major areas.
Matchday operations
Sebastian Walleit (in the company since 2008), Björn Hegemann (2014), Luisa Junk (2016) and Antje Boedeker (2017) work in the area of matchday operations. A large part of their job involves the support, advance preparation, and post-match processing of senior-team and U23 matches, work with disabled supporters, the organisation of away season tickets, consultation on stadium bans and hooliganism, as well as networking.
Fan clubs
Petra Stüker (at BVB since 1981), Alexander Winkler (2015), Amelie Gorden (2016) and Sebastian Schneider (2017) are focused on work to do with fan clubs, supported by Marie Büchner (2017), who is currently training. They are predominantly occupied with processing the queries and requests of over 800 official fan clubs, into which 25,000 to 30,00 fans are organised. However, they also take care of various administrative office tasks for the department.
Alongside these two major areas, further duties and responsibilities include, among others, the running of the Supporters’ Council, the organisation of supporters’ events and anti-discrimination work. In addition to that, the fan representatives work in close cooperation with the voluntarily run Supporters’ Association, which forms part of the registered association, as well as with the Fan Project Dortmund, both of which champion supporters’ causes outside of the limited company.
Individual fans can submit queries of any kind to the general E-Mail address die-fanbeauftragten@bvb.de. Fan clubs should use the E-mail address fanclubs@bvb.de.
