The 22-year-old attacker has been under contract with Borussia Dortmund since July 2021. As of June 2023 (all figures accurate as of this date), he has only played for the BVB U23s.
He was born in Minden and came through the academy in Hanover before moving to Wolfsburg at the age of 14. During his development at VfL's youth performance centre, he played for the U17s, U19s and U23s. In the summer of 2021, VfL did not renew his contract, and Pohlmann found a new home in Borussia Dortmund's U23s. "Ole is a flexible attacker with great potential. He will help us immediately," said U23 team manager Ingo Preuss after the transfer was completed.
Two years and 68 Drittliga games (five goals, ten assists) later, he signed his first professional contract in June 2023. After taking part in some of the Bundesliga team's pre-season preparations and the club's Asia trip in the 2022/23 season, he moved up to the first team for the 2023/24 season. "I am very happy that I got the chance at BVB and was able to sign my professional contract. I will continue to go full-throttle every day. I would like to thank everyone who has supported me up to this point and hope to be able to celebrate my Bundesliga debut here one day."
