Pillars

The concept of the "leuchte auf" foundation is based on the four pillars of "Future", "Diversity", "Commitment" and "Health". Within each pillar are the social challenges we want to address:

There is no doubt that talent can be found all throughout society. Unfortunately, opportunities for education are still unevenly distributed. That is why we support projects that offer socially disadvantaged children and young people in particular opportunities to develop their creativity and talent more effectively. For them and their prospects, we are investing specifically in education and training, helping to make them fit for the future. At the same time, however, we also want to be there for a group of people who are still too often forgotten: the growing number of elderly people. The YOUNGSTERS Academy of the Dortmund club Machbarschaft Borsig11 e.V. is the flagship project for the "Future" pillar.

Future

Diversity

Diserty is part of the DNA of the Ruhr area and also of BVB. "Borussia unites generations, men and women, and all nations. Here you don't ask if someone is rich or poor. We fans in the stands, we're all the same." That is according to a well-known BVB song by Dortmund cabaret artist Bruno Knust. We stand for openness and integration. Racism, extremist political beliefs and intolerant attitudes, on the other hand, have no place in the BVB. To this end, we support projects for the political education of children and young people and are thus committed to functional integration. Our commitment is aimed at people with migrant backgrounds and also at people with disabilities. The entire BVB family is clearly in favour of a diverse and inclusive society. The BVB learning centre established by Fan-Projekt Dortmund e.V. and the "90 Minuten gegen Rechts" ("90 minutes against the right") project by DGB-Bildungwerk NRW e.V. are the flagship projects in the "Diversity" pillar

Commitment

Without the commitment of volunteers, Borussia Dortmund would never have been established. It was simple people who achieved a goal, borne out of an idea, in the face of resistance. And there are people who still do that today. Where there is a lack of financial resources to carry out social projects, we want to help them. That's why we invest specifically in projects that aim to start and promote voluntary and non-profit activities. For example, we help repair playgrounds, kindergartens and school playgrounds. BVB fan clubs, in particular, are involved on a project-by-project basis and are welcome at any time to propose project ideas to our foundation, in which the BVB fans volunteer, helping give the Black and Yellow family a face. We work hand in hand to do good together.

Health

Health is our highest priority and of course also has a very special significance for BVB. It should be just as prominent when it comes to support for children, young people and adults too. That is why we support projects that promote healthy lifestyles for adults and children alike. What's more, we are strongly committed to health care institutions, all of which share the common goal of helping sick people get the most out of their lives. We help with a wide range of resources – be it financial aid, materials or special BVB experiences.
