BVB coaches Julia Farr and Michal Ziolo kicked off the club's cooperation with regional partner Orientivity by organising a Black and Yellow football festival for local kids in Singapore between 13 and 17 March.
For five days, 22 aspiring youngsters between the ages of seven and 14 had the opportunity to experience BVB up close and personal 11,000 kilometres away from Dortmund in Singapore. Two training sessions were held each day in which they received coaching on the most important footballing skills while having a whole lot of fun in the process.
But in addition to a whole lot of shooting, dribbling and passing exercises, the coaches also took the time to teach all the kids a few important values in the two "half-time activities" that featured on the schedule. The first of those focused on the themes of trust, responsibility and team building, while the second was dedicated to different types of communication and tested the youth players' BVB knowledge in a quiz. Thanks to a wonderful willingness to learn and a great passion for football, all those involved made the event into an unforgettable experience.
And it doesn't stop there either. As Orientivity is a regional partner in China and Malaysia as well, the next Black and Yellow football events are already in the planning stages.
