Post-game comments: "Football is not always fair"
The Borussia Dortmund players left Signal Iduna Park with their heads down. "The defeat was unfortunate. We should have earned at least a point" said Neven Subotic after the game against Arsenal. This sentiment was shared by Jonas Hofmann who added, "We had many good moments, but we couldn´t get our game plan going."
Neven Subotic: "The defeat was unfortunate, and also a bit undeserved. We should have earned at least a point, but we lacked a goal. We had more and better chances in both halves. The difference between Arsenal and us was that they took their chance when it came."
Jonas Hofmann: "We had many good moments tonight but were unable to get our game plan going. Our biggest problem was that we were not clinical enough in front of goal. And with the quality Arsenal have, we got punished for it.
Nuri Sahin: "It was an open game, but unfortunately we failed to take our chances. We defended well, but Arsenal scored with their first shot on goal. It went our way in the first game, today Arsenal were more fortunate."
Roman Weidenfeller: "Arsenal were fortunate to win the game, but the same can be said about our win in London. It still must be said that football is not always fair. We lacked a bit of determination tonight. In these kind of conditions a simple shot would have done the trick. And that´s why we failed to beat Arsenal."
