Borussia Dortmund are about to set an all-time record in the Bundesliga. Two days before the end of the exchange deadline for the present 49.500 season ticket holders, an end to the demand for season tickets is not in sight. So far 45.400 season tickets have been sold for the 2009/2010 season and the waiting list with another 4.600 potential season ticket holders will only be processed from 1 July.

"You don´t need arithmetic knowledge to predict that we will pass the 50.000 mark," said Hans-Joachim Watzke, the club´s chairman of the executive board. And this will be accomplished despite 1.000 seats on the South Stand are held back for fan clubs.
And so BVB will pass the 50.000 season-tickets mark for the third time in history and beat the record of the 2007/2008 season of 50.549. At that time the main sponsor Evonik even threw in a free shirt. "We are about to set an all-time record in the Bundesliga," said Watzke, "We thank everybody for the confidence in us and we want to present a great team."
