The draw for the last 16 of the DFB Cup was made on Sunday, and Borussia Dortmund were drawn against third-division VfL Osnabrück. The game takes place on 27 or 28 October in Osnabrück. VfL are one of two amateur clubs left in the German cup competition.

"It´s a match against my and my assistant coach Rolf Meyer´s former club," said Osnabrück coach Karsten Baumann in the ZDF programme "Aktuelles Sportstudio." The defender played from 1998 to 2000 for Borussia and made 41 of his 261 Bundesliga appearances in a BVB shirt. Rolf Meyer was BVB´s second-choice goalkeeper from 1983 to 1991 and made five appearances in the top flight for Dortmund.
Osnabrück, currently ninth in the third division, have reached the last 16 with a first-round 2-1 victory over Hansa Rostock and a second-round 4-2 penalty win over Hamburg SV. "Unfortunately, Dortmund will not underestimate us," said Baumann.
Borussia Dortmund were drawn first, but since amateur clubs enjoy home field advantage in the DFB Cup, BVB have to travel to Osnabrück for the tie. The exact date and kick-off time of the game will probably be announced by the DFB next week.
The round of the last 16 will be played on 27 and 28 October, the quarter-finals on 9/10 February and the semi-finals on 23/24 March. The final takes place on 15 May 2010 at the Berlin Olympic Stadium.
