Marco Rose (Head coach): "We were well in the game from the beginning, were serious off the ball and tidy with it. Overall, we have bowed out of the Champions League in a respectable manner. We were in a top position after the opening two games. Then came the Ajax double-header. The Champions League campaign did not pan out ideally for us. We have missed out on our objective. Nonetheless, it was important for us to put in another good performance today. We managed that."

Marco Reus (Team captain): "We want to stay in our rhythm. Our counter-pressing was outstanding in the opening half. That also has to be the goal for our upcoming matches. We wanted to boost our self-confidence further and are well prepared for the final three games of the calendar year. Those will be extremely important to ensure we go into the winter break with a good feeling. Our elimination still hurts, of course. This team has the class to play in the Champions League. Now it's down to us to embrace the Europa League. They will be different games, but it's always in our own hands to determine the outcome of a match."
