Sunday evening (kick-off 18:00 CET) sees BVB play their first home game of the new Bundesliga season at Signal Iduna Park against Rasenballsport Leipzig. Regardless of the day of the week or the competition − whether it be the Bundesliga, DFB Cup or Champions League − DSW21 will be involved in the new season and will deploy numerous special trains on BVB home matchdays.

Getting to the stadium via suburban rail
The most important suburban rail line towards Signal Iduna Park is the U45, which travels between the stops "Hauptbahnhof" (Main Station) and "Stadion" (Stadium) at least every five minutes starting from three hours before kick-off and ending 90 minutes after full-time. As in previous seasons, football fans at the "Hauptbahnhof" will be directed to the platform via the north entrance in order to better control access to the suburban rail stop. DSW21 kindly asks all passengers, even those not travelling towards the stadium, for their understanding regarding this provision, which aims to prevent dangerous situations such as the overcrowding of the platform and the associated entrance. Passenger flow will also be controlled at both entrances to the stop "Stadion" after full-time.

Another way to reach Signal Iduna Park is via the suburban rail lines U42 (Grevel – Schulte-Rödding – Reinoldikirche – Theodor-Fliedner-Heim – Hombruch) and U46 (Brunnenstraße/Brügmannplatz – Reinoldikirche – Westfalenhallen). The closest stops to Signal Iduna Park are "Theodor-Fliedner-Heim" (U42) und "Westfalenhallen" (U46). At "Theodor-Fliedner-Heim", the existing access policy has been adapted.

Getting to the stadium via bus
Additionally, the bus line 450 will be laying on additional vehicles between "Schanze/Kirchhörde" and "Stadion". A bus will be running between those locations around once every five minutes before and after the match.

In particular for stadium visitors who will be travelling from the west via the A45/A40/B1, the uni-shuttle running from the university at the stop "Theodor-Fliedner-Heim" is the best option to get to BVB without getting caught in traffic. From the B1 (exit "Universität/Dorstfeld" or "Barop"), drivers should follow the "P+R BVB" signs. The shuttle buses will initially depart from the stop at Uni-Parkplatz 1 on Otto-Hahn-Straße and travel via Vogelpothsweg and Emil-Figge-Straße towards "Theodor-Fliedner-Heim". On Emil-Figge-Straße, the buses will stop at the stop "REFA Center" too.

Restrictions for other travellers
Due to the high demand on matchdays, it can sometimes get rather congested in the suburban rail trains before and after the matches. Due to the additional trains travelling towards the stadium, the capacities on the other lines are briefly slightly lower. DSW21 asks for understanding – everything with wheels will be in motion on matchdays!

Stadium tickets are combi-tickets
BVB stadium tickets serve as a combi-ticket for one return journey on the day of the match. The ticket can be used on all supplement-free local trains (second class travel) and all buses and trains of the local public transport companies in the entire Rhine-Ruhr public transport association (Verkehrsverbund Rhein-Ruhr – VRR).
