Shining children's eyes, delicious food and an unforgettable visit to the world's most beautiful stadium: on Tuesday evening, Borussia Dortmund welcomed almost 70 invited guests from the Dortmunder Tafel (food-bank charity) to a shared dinner at SIGNAL IDUNA PARK. BVB managing director Carsten Cramer welcomed the guests and opened the buffet together with Dr Horst Röhr, chairman of the Dortmunder Tafel.

The Dortmunder Tafel offers socially disadvantaged families not only affordable weekly shopping but also the opportunity to participate in educational programmes. During the Easter holidays, 30 children and young people took part in an IT camp - the Dortmunder Tafel and BVB wanted to reward the young people for their participation by organising a shared meal. Together with their families, the youngsters were able to enjoy a hearty dinner at the "Alter Markt" yesterday. This event allows the children to gain an experience of self-sufficiency and the sense that they can make a valuable contribution to their family life.

Another specialty of the event was that BVB employees prepared, welcomed and accompanied the guests and provided the service on a voluntary basis.
