Following a run of three consecutive away games in which they accumulated four points, Borussia Dortmund's U23s are back in front of their own fans on Saturday, with Jan Siewert's charges playing host to Wuppertaler SV on Matchday 14 of the Regionalliga West season.

It is set to be a real high-profile clash, with fourth-placed Dortmund taking on third-placed Wuppertal at the Rote Erde at 14:00 CET. The winner will take the three points needed to keep the pressure on league leaders Uerdingen.

With the visitors looking extremely dangerous early this season, particularly going forward, it won't be an easy game for the Black & Yellows. In Christopher Kramer, Wuppertal have a centre-forward who has nine goals in 12 appearances this season. The most recent of those came when he netted a brace against Fortuna Düsseldorf II, who beat Borussia Dortmund 2-0 in midweek. Another key to their success is Gaetano Manno, an experienced hand who bolsters the young players in the squad. Both the matches against Wuppertal last season were close encounters, though the Black & Yellows were unable to win either. They instead drew one and lost one against this weekend's opponents when they met last term, when the U23s were still under Daniel Farke's leadership.

The hosts will be hoping for better on Saturday. They still have fond memories of facing Wuppertal, having beaten them 5-3 in the Stadion am Zoo on 19 May 2012 – the 38th matchday of the season – to secure promotion to the third tier.

That was the last victory over Wuppertal – it's high time for another...
