Medial meniscus and medial collateral ligament: Dede underwent knee surgery
Dede has torn the medial meniscus and the medial collateral ligament in his right knee in Sunday´s Bundesliga game at Werder Bremen. BVB´s left-back was diagnosed with the knee injury following a scan carried out by club doctor Markus Braun at the BG Unfallklinik hospital in Duisburg on Monday.
The 31-year-old German-Brazilian, who joined Borussia Dortmund in 1998, underwent surgery on Tuesday, performed by Dr Jürgen Eichhorn, a knee specialist in Straubing (Bavaria).
According to club doctor Markus Braun, Dede has to undergo approximately six weeks of rehab and most likely will return to regular training in January.
