A hard-fought but, given the chances they created, a deserved qualification for Borussia Dortmund to the second round of the DFB Cup. "It was, as expected, a tough game. The other team fought until the last minute," said Neven Subotic. "After the second goal it looked like we thought the game is over," said Hans-Joachim Watzke who still never doubted BVB would win. "Borussia Dortmund have had more difficult first-round games in the DFB Cup."

Hans-Joachim Watzke: "As expected, there was a lot going on. After the second goal it looked like we thought the game is over. Despite an early goal, we failed to add a third one. Borussia Dortmund have had more difficult first-round games in the DFB Cup. But we also know that fourth-division sides are capable of playing some decent football."
Jürgen Klopp: "We went through despite a bad performance. I wasn´t happy with the game even before we made it 2-0. There are three reasons: the first and most important one is the opposition, the second one the dull pitch which obviously hadn´t been watered before the game. And even if it sounds like an excuse, but for the team that has to control the game, this is an disadvantage. The third reason was the weather. But I don´t want to look for excuses. The positive is that we are through to the next round."

Mohamed Zidan:"We knew what to expect. Weiden were very motivated, as always when a so-called little club meet a big one. I made similar experiences with Bremen and Hamburg. I can understand that the coach is unhappy, because we made many mistakes. I was lucky with my goal to give the ball a push towards goal. I really wanted to avoid a penalty, which would have been awarded otherwise, because with penalties it´s always a fifty-fifty chance."
Neven Subotic: "It was, as expected, a tough game. The other team fought until the last minute, worked hard in every tackle and made life difficult for us. We still created chances and scored the goals at the right time."
