The match stats support that BVB earned a deserved home win over Bochum as they outshot their opponents 18 to eight and also had the corner count of five to two in their favour. In the second half it took Bochum until the 81st minute to have a shot on goal. Both teams had a 50 per cent tackle success rate and also - quite surprisingly - an equal share of possession. BVB´s most noticeable player was Mohamed Zidan, who, with four shots and four assists, was almost involved in every second of Borussia´s 18 shots on goal. And for the first time this season, BVB scored more than one goal in a league game.

One of the rare occasions where Neven Subotic didn’t get the ball (against Hashemian).

Sven Bender was BVB´s best tackler with a success rate of 83 per cent. With 83, Nuri Sahin had the most touches of the ball.
For the first time this season BVB won two games in a row, following up to their 1-0 victory at Mönchengladbach. It was also their third clean sheet of the season - all of their three wins so far were clean sheets.
Neven Subotic scored all of his seven Bundesliga goals from set plays (five following a corner, on Sunday for the second time after a free-kick). Six of the seven goals were headers. Last season Subotic was the league´s most dangerous defender with six goals, on Sunday he scored his first of this campaign.
For the 50th time in his career, Roman Weidenfeller managed to keep a clean sheet.
Lucas Barrios scored four goals in the last four competitive matches, and including the friendlies, he netted 10 of Dortmund´s last 12 goals!
Borussia´s starting line-up had an average age of 25.1 years - the youngest starting side for 14 months (30/08/2008).

Successful debut: Damien Le Tallec against Joel Epallé.

Damien Le Tallec made his Bundesliga debut for Borussia Dortmund. The 19-year-old Frenchman joined BVB from Stade Rennes last summer and scored a goal in each of his two appearances for BVB´s reserve side in the third division (at VfB II and against Wehen).
The last time Nelson Valdez started in midfield was one and a half years ago. On 13 April 2008, in the 5-0 defeat to Bayern, Valdez played in the right of midfield.
Jakub Blaszczykowski returned to the starting line-up for the first time in five weeks - the last time was against Bayern (1-5) on 12 September 2009. The last time Nelson Valdez made the starting XI was four weeks ago against Hannover (19 September 2009).
Bochum conceded sixth goals from headers this season. Last year they conceded the most goals from headers of all Bundesliga teams (2008/2009 a total of 16).
Bochum´s right-back Marc Pfertze only had a tackle success rate of 17 per cent in the first half.
Bochum conceded their seventh goal from a cross this season - more than any other team in the league. BVB scored their first goal from a cross this season - they were the last Bundesliga side to do so.
