After the first home game of the year, Edin Terzic, Niclas Füllkrug, Marcel Sabitzer, Alexander Meyer and Nico Schlotterbeck spoke about the match against VfL Bochum. The match reactions.

Edin Terzic (at the press conference): "We're satisfied that we were able to pick up the third win in a row. We got off to a good start. But we did not succeeded in using the many good combination plays afterwards to get clear shots away. We had more than 50 touches of the ball in the opposition box; that's a good number. There was an improvement in many areas but there are still some things we didn't like. The goal we conceded to level the score at 1-1 did not throw us off our stride. The lads that came on as substitutes played their part in us comfortably winning this match. We know that this was simply the next step and that further good steps must follow."

Niclas Füllkrug (to BVB-TV): "Thanks to Donny, who won the penalty, we made a super start to the game. However, Bochum luckily came back. We often failed to find our team-mates with the final ball. We were sometimes diligent with our high press, but we didn't then do it when we especially needed to press high. Three games won, 10-1 goals and never in danger – nonetheless, there is room for improvement with several things. You can see that it is currently doing us good to be able to train a lot and work on things. After every training session, I score my three penalties."

Marcel Sabitzer (in the mixed zone): "When you play against Bochum, you know what you're going to get. Lots of long balls and tough challenges. We handled the situation well. The own goal naturally played into Bochum's hands. We knew that need to start well after the break. In the end it's a deserved result. But it was hard work. We were a bit sloppy and didn't play the positional game the way we wanted to. We have to improve. But for us, only the win counts. And with three in a row, you cannot complain. We've worked hard during the winter break. The aspiration in Dortmund is to play in a refreshing way. We'll continue to work on that."

Alexander Meyer (to BVB TV): "That was a proper fight. Despite the early goal, which should've actually played into our hands, we struggled slightly to create more clear chances and conceded a crappy goal before half-time which was rather unlucky. In the end, we got our reward with two goals."

Nico Schlotterbeck (in the mixed zone): "We played a decent game and gave hardly anything away. We're delighted with the victory; you can call it a hard-fought win. There's still room for improvement. We can be satisfied with the results. We've scored 10 goals and conceded only one – which we also scored ourselves. We can play better but from what I've seen, Bochum have not been in bad form over the last 10 games either. We need to perform again on Friday. We'll go on the attack in Heidenheim and want to come home with a win."
