At 35 years and three months of age, Mats Hummels is the oldest player in the Borussia Dortmund squad. He made his first Bundesliga starting appearance in 2024 in the home match against Frankfurt - and gave BVB the lead.

Hummels scored his third goal of the season against Frankfurt. His first two goals came on Matchday 4 in Freiburg. The defender's last goal at home also came against Frankfurt, in April 2023. Hummels has never scored as many goals against any club in his career as Eintracht Frankfurt (five). 21 of his 33 Bundesliga goals have been headers. Hummels touched the ball 134 times - the joint leader in the game with centre-back partner Nico Schlotterbeck.
