Lucien Favre was delighted with the performance and with his young players, Manuel Akanji and Jacob Bruun Larsen spoke about their first goals, and Marcel Schmelzer praised the team spirit. Here are the reactions to the match against Nuremberg.

Lucien Favre: "We still need time to mould the team, but it's a lot of fun for me. We began very brightly and scored an early goal. After going 2-0 up, we were relieved but we wanted to continue to play forward. Towards the end we had a lot of chances and got the goals. It was a great game for us. We have lots and lots of young players who need time despite their immense potential. The experienced players are equally important. There's still a lot of work for us to do."

Manuel Akanji: "We pressed well from the first minute, did a good job in defence and used the chances we created well. It was a very good feeling to score my first goal for BVB."

Jacob Bruun Larsen: "Today we focused on ourselves and on our performance. That worked very well. We were very effective and took almost all of our chances. We now need to continue to work on this, we have another match on Saturday."

Marcel Schmelzer: "We have a big squad. But whoever plays for us makes the most of their playing time. It's a very good example for our attacking contingent. Everyone has a lot of desire and that really helps the team. That's what's allowing us to be so successful at the moment."
