The U23s enjoyed a very special training session on Saturday. At 10 a.m. in the morning, the team was welcomed by hotel owner and "expert for unusual tours" Willi Steindl. Last year, Willi took us up the mountain on foot at 4 a.m. Today, just an "easy bike tour" was on the agenda.

After a short induction session on the bikes, we first went through the picturesque village of Kirchberg before the main peloton moved eastwards and after a short time crossed Kitzbühel. With the sun shining down, there was time for a chat or two on the bike. Conversation turned to the past few days' training, the start of the 3. Liga season and tomorrow's friendly match against the Cypriot first division team Pafos FC.

The route then led our U23s further north. They crossed Oberdorf in Tirol and, after an hour, arrived at their destination in St. Johann in Tirol. The bikes were parked and it was time for a short walk through the small holiday resort. This was followed by lunch together at an Italian restaurant. Afterwards, we cycled the same way back towards the hotel. In about two hours of cycling, the group covered a distance of over 37 kilometres, climbed 480 metres in altitude and cycled at an average speed of about 18 km/h.

After a strenuous day, the majority of the team went down to the nearby lake. In the evening, they will have dinner together and prepare for Sunday's friendly game.
