While Borussia Dortmund's home matches against Sportclub Freiburg have largely gone their way in recent times, the Black and Yellows cannot and must not rely on statistics when the pair meet at Signal Iduna Park in the Bundesliga at 20:30 CET on Friday. As usual, everything you need to know about the match has been succinctly summarised below.

Milos Jojic was still a BVB player the last time the two clubs met.

The scenario: Third vs ninth. Borussia Dortmund have three wins to their name this season, while Sport-Club Freiburg have two (home) victories. BVB have won the last ten Bundesliga matches against Freiburg – their only longer winning run came against Uerdingen between 1989 and 1996 (11 wins).

Home/away: Borussia have won 13 of their last 15 home games in a run stretching back into last season, are unbeaten in 23 matches at Signal Iduna Park, have scored at least two in each of their last seven home games and are on the verge of equalling their previous home record. It was set between 3 November 2001 and 15 May 2003, when BVB were undefeated in 24 outings in a row at the Strobelallee. Freiburg are yet to pick up a away point this season (two defeats, 1-5 goal difference).

Personnel matters: Bartra (torn adductor), Reus (lack of match fitness), Bender (ankle), Durm (knee operation), Subotic (chest operation) and probably Schürrle too (strained ligament) will be missing for BVB, while Freiburg are without Kempf (rehabilitation); the clash also comes too soon for Föhrenbach, Kübler, Torrejon and Nielsen, who are lacking match fitness.

Head-to-head: Only once in 32 meetings have Dortmund failed to find the net against Freiburg (a 2-0 loss on 21 October 2001), meaning there has never been a goalless draw between the sides. BVB have won the last eight home games (24-2 goal difference). Freiburg have only lost more often to Bayern (22 times) than Borussia (21), and have been waiting longer to beat the Black and Yellows (10 games) than any other team. Their last success was a 3-1 win at the Dreisam in May 2010. Freiburg have taken the lead on 13 occasions in this pairing but only won twice – Sport-Club have not lost so many times (six) after opening the scoring against any other club.

Statistics: Only Munich (14) have scored more goals so far this season than Dortmund (13), who have conceded three goals (well below the league average of six). Both teams have yet to draw.

Robert Lewandowski and Marco Reus (centre) each scored a brace against Sport-Club in September 2013, much to the annoyance of Matthias Ginter (right)...

Biggest home win: On 28 September 2013 two goals apiece from Marco Reus and Robert Lewandowski plus another from Jakub Blaszczykowski gave BVB a 5-0 win.

Match officials: Christian Dingert, 36, from Lebecksmühle, is taking charge of his 82nd Bundesliga game and his sixth involving Borussia Dortmund (five wins under his supervision so far). Tobias Christ and Arne Aarnink will be the linesmen.

Attendance: Freiburg will be travelling with 3,200 Fans and have returned 1,380 tickets, which will be available for purchase from the visiting team's box office in front of the North Stand from 17:00 CET on Friday.
