After a suspect was arrested for the bomb attack on Borussia Dortmund's team bus on the evening of the 11. April, 2017, BVB hopes that the case will be resolved soon and would like to thank the police unit who are investigating the case.

Hans-Joachim Watzke, Borussia Dortmund's CEO and President Dr. Reinhard Rauball emphasised in unison: "the investigations of the Federal Prosecutor's Office, the Federal Criminal Office and the Northrhine-Westphalia police were very intensive and they put every effort into the task. We would like to say thank you in every way possible and we hope that their investigations prove the suspect who has been caught is the person responsible for the dispicable bomb attack on our players and staff members."

Three bombs exploded right in the vicinity of the BVB team hotel next to the bus on the 11. April. Borussia Dortmund's defender Marc Bartra suffered a severe arm injury and had to undergo an operation. As we know today, it was just pure luck that no one else was injured or even killed.

BVB team captain Marcel Schmelzer expressed his hope in the name of the whole team, "that we will find out what the actual reason was for the bomb attack. This information would be very important for everyone who was sitting in the bus, because this would make it much each easier to deal with in the aftermath of this horrific incident."

Borussia Dortmund would like to express their thanks to all the countless people who have supported us in the last ten days through their words and their deeds. Hans-Joachim Watzke noted: "the enormous amount of support has given us a lot of strength."
