Borussia Dortmund are participating in the UEFA Champions League for the 13th time. They have always reached the knockout stages after winning their opening two games. Here we bring you the match facts.

Perfect start: Borussia Dortmund have kicked off a Champions League campaign with two wins for the fourth time and, as they did in 2014/15 (goal difference 5-0), they have kept two clean sheets. The other seasons in which they won their first two games were 1996/97 and 1997/98. BVB have always reached the knockouts after starting with two wins.

Home win: It is the first time since the 4-0 victory over Benfica on 8 March 2017 that BVB have celebrated a Champions League win in front of their own fans. None of their last four home games in the competition have ended in triumph.

Goals guaranteed: The 3-0 win over Monaco was the 14th successive European home game in which BVB have scored at least once, equalling the previous club record set between 1987 and 1993.

Top-scorer: Marco Reus scored his 26th goal on his 49th appearance in international club competitions. He has now registered six goals and six assists across all competitions this season!

Goal-getter: Third game, fourth goal! Paco Alcácer has scored at least once in each of his matches for BVB.

Dream debut: The 20-year-old Jacob Bruun Larsen scored his first goal and followed it up with an assist on his debut in European competition. (br)
