The Borussia Dortmund U23s will play their penultimate home game of the season on Saturday afternoon. The Black & Yellows will host SV Straelen, who currently sit 15th in the Regionalliga West and are battling relegation.

While they have a six-point cushion over 16th-placed Kaan-Marienborn, they have a significantly worse goal difference and one fewer game left to play than their fellow strugglers. The reverse fixture between SV Straelen and Borussia Dortmund produced a 1-1 stalemate. Joseph Boyamba scored the sole goal for the Black & Yellows in the second period, after Ahmad Jafari had given the promoted outfit a 1-0 lead shortly before half-time.

Hober and Ornatelli joined on the sidelines by Boadu, Bah-Traore and Schwermann

There was a palpable sense of relief following the BVB win in Verl last time out. "We saw a very intense match over the 90 minutes. In my opinion, Verl had the better of the first period. But in the second period, we performed significantly better. We went forward with more tempo. And that's how we managed to get the goals in the second half," said a delighted BVB boss Alen Terzic following the final whistle. Herbert Bockhorn and Luca Kilian were the goalscorers as the U23s claimed a 2-0 victory at the Sportclub-Arena.

On Saturday, Terzic will be without the long-term injury absentees Marco Hober and Massimo Ornatelli. In addition, Denzeil Boadu will miss out after sustaining an injury in Verl, while Haymenn Bah-Traore has suffered another setback six weeks after making his comeback from injury. The defender is set for another lengthy spell out with a knee injury. Julian Schwermann will miss out through suspension at the weekend.

SV Straelen have made a lot of headlines in the past few weeks for making an historic coaching appointment. The former Germany international Inka Grings has become the first woman to take over a head coach role in the top four divisions. After a tough start with two defeats and a draw, she picked up her first win last week as the Green & Yellows sent a message to their relegation rivals by beating Alemannia Aachen 2-0. The match at the Rote Erde kicks off at 14:00 CET.
