Julian Weigl aired his thoughts in front of the sky microphone after BVB drew 2-2 away at Werder Bremen.

Julian Weigl on how the match panned out:
After such a strong first half with chances to make it 3-0, and with really good chances at the beginning of the second half as well, it's really aggravating to throw away the game like that. It was unbelievable how Bremen pressed us. Unfortunately, we made two mistakes which led to the goals. On balance, the result is fair given how Bremen played in the second half. We repeatedly failed to play our way free.

... on the second half in which their dominance waned:
It is hard to set the pace when Bremen press us like they did. We didn't want to commit footballing harakiri, we know what pacy players they have up front. We wanted to wait in the first instance, but this proved to be the wrong decision. We weren't able to give ourselves breathing space any more when we won possession of the ball.

... on possible reasons for that:
We have players who lead the way. Marco Reus didn't play, and he would have helped us. But to use that as an excuse isn't right. Given our relative position in the table, we needed to win this game. It's still possible for us to win the title mathematically, but it's only getting more difficult.
