Although their winning streak came to an end, the Borussia U19s will nonetheless have been happy to come away from their trip to Leverkusen with a 3-3 draw. The result was enough to see the Black & Yellows maintain their second-place position in the Bundesliga West table, four points ahead of the Bayer 04 U19s. 

Almost 1,000 fans turned out at the Ulrich Haberland Stadium to watch what turned out to be a pulsating game of football. BVB, weakened by the absence of Giovanni Reyna, Immanuel Pherai and Alaa Bakir, were able to grab a 2-0 first-half lead thanks to goals from Youssoufa Moukoko and Ansgar Knauff. However, Leverkusen bounced back strongly after the break and were able to draw level with BVB in the 71st minute. Not long afterwards, the home side struck again to take a 3-2 lead. BVB central-defender Albin Thaqi then popped up with a goal deep in injury time to snatch a point for the Black & Yellows. 

Next Sunday, coach Michael Skibbe's side will host RW Oberhausen at the BVB Youth Performance Centre (kick-off 11:00 CET). (wiwi)
