Sporting director Michael Zorc was delighted with the victory: "The manner of the victory impressed me." Julian Brandt and Manuel Akanji were annoyed at letting in an "unnecessary goal" and lacking some efficiency, but were generally pleased. Here are the reactions to the game:

Michael Zorc: "It did us good to win again today. The manner of the victory impressed me. When Augsburg got into our penalty area for the first time, we went 0-1 down. Then we produced a good reaction and did not lose our composure. We went forward with purpose, created a lot of chances and also missed a penalty. Then we scored the goals and got a very well-deserved victory. All the statistics show how the game went. This has to be the way forward for us."

Julian Brandt: "The goal we conceded was a bit of an unnecessary one. So we had to fight back from behind again. But the reaction to last week was excellent. We created a lot of chances, which is a big positive. Of course, you have to put a game like that to bed earlier. One way of not conceding from set pieces is to not give away free kicks and corners. That is what we saw today. We conceded one corner. So that's another way to stop set pieces from hurting you."

Manuel Akanji: "We could have been more efficient, but it's good to score three goals. We played well before their goal too. After that, we continued to move the ball forward and did not give up after we missed the penalty. Then we got what we deserved in the second half. We defended the few set pieces against us very well. We worked on that again in trained during the week and talked about it."
