Marco Reus scored the early opener to make it 1-0 and praised two goals by Erling Haaland. After the match, the captain spoke to Sky about his teammate.

Marco Reus: "We have obviously missed Erling in the past few games. Today, we have seen it again: he is massively important for us because he always occupies two or three players. The fact that he scored two goals on his comeback is fantastic. That's why we signed him."

Emre Can: "We conceded a stupid goal – but what was even more important was the response afterwards: we continued to go forward. Things are moving in the right direction. I was ready for the game today, and desperately wanted to play. On Tuesday, we face a team who are playing well in Amsterdam. But we can play too. We have to play with confidence. Our goal is to go there and win."

Jude Bellingham: "It wasn't our best game. We've moved the ball better before. But what makes us stand out is that we can win against any opposition. We kept on going until the end. Getting the win is always the most important thing. Celebrating with the fans is something special."

Julian Brandt: "We started the game very well, put a lot of pressure on them and took the lead early. Over time, it became a little more frantic. We couldn't keep up the pressure. In the second half, the game was completely open – it was a really end to end game. We need to be smarter. Especially when we are 2-0 up.”
