Things are going very well for Borussia Dortmund's U23s at the end of the year: the Black & Yellows have taken seven points from their last three games, conceding only one goal in the process. They will be aiming to continue that run at home to 1860 Munich on Saturday lunchtime. Kick-off at Stadion Rote Erde is at 14:00 CET.

Borussia Dortmund's attacking players clearly had a lot of fun away to SC Verl last Saturday. Despite playing on a poor-quality pitch, the Black & Yellows scored three times in the space of nine minutes to take a 3-0 lead, which ultimately remained the final score. In addition to goalscorers Ansgar Knauff and Berkan Taz (two), Immanuel Pherai produced a standout display too. The Dutchman assisted all three goals, taking his season account to six assists and three goals, and along with Richmond Tachie and Berkan Taz is one of the team's top scorers. The Dortmund defence gave a good account of itself too, staying compact and making up for the early loss of defender Niklas Dams to torn ligaments.

Opponents 1860 Munich, who went into the campaign targeting promotion, are currently lagging behind their own expectations. The men from Munich have won only one away match this season and have lost their last two games (against Mannheim and Magdeburg). Coach Michael Köllner's charges currently sit 12th in the 3. Liga. The gap to the Black & Yellows amounts to four points, with the promotion spots nine points away.

In the Black & Yellow camp, the personnel situation has changed with Antonios Papadopoulos set to miss out through suspension and Niklas Dams, Luca Unbehaun, Marco Pasalic and Kolbeinn Finnsson all on the injury list.
