Julian Brandt: "We had enough chances to win the match. But if we don't ultimately take those chances, then we will only draw 1-1. It's not solely bad luck. In the end we have to also want to score the goal at all costs. If we go for the ball with more conviction, then that will happen. We had two or three good chances in the first half. If we had consistently taken our chances, then I am convinced that we'd have won the game today too."

Marius Wolf: "We played an untidy game in the first half – and yet we still had chances. In the second period, we had even more opportunities. We're frustrated about the fact that we could only draw a match that we needed to win. For my goal, I got the ball from Marco and didn't see Jude because he was positioned behind an opponent. It's then down to an interpretation of the rules that the goal does not stand. After Julian's goal, which then finally counted, we still had time to get the win. It's extremely bitter."

Gregor Kobel: "It was not a gratifying game for me. But that happens. Shortly before the foul, I realised it was going to be close. But then there was no going back. That was obviously frustrating because that passage of play put the team in a tough position. I certainly should've done better there, I am at fault for the goal. It's very frustrating. I try to always play on the front foot. Mostly it works out, this time it didn't work out..."
