Borussia Dortmund U23s will not play their last three home matches of the season at their normal home of the Rote Erde. Due to construction work, coach Enrico Maassen's side will move to SIGNAL IDUNA PARK for their games against Viktoria Berlin, Halleschen FC and SC Verl.

The DFB has approved BVB's application for a change of stadium. This had become necessary because the city of Dortmund, as the owner of the Rote Erde Stadion, will begin reconstruction of the stadium at the end of March. The turf heating system, which is obligatory for third division football, and a new drainage system associated with it will be put into operation. In addition, a new turf surface will be laid. The work is intended to adapt the playing surface in the stadium, which was opened in 1926, to the special requirements of professional football. BVB will bear the costs for the turf heating, substructure and new turf.

Before that, however, the former coal shafts underneath the stadium have to be backfilled. A task that will take time and whose completion date is not yet foreseeable. "That's why it was important for us to start the reconstruction work during the season," said Dr Christian Hockenjos, Director of Organisation at BVB.

The DFB has also scheduled three more match days in the 3rd division: On April 2 BVB travels to Viktoria Köln, on April 9 Viktoria Berlin are the visitors to SIGNAL IDUNA PARK and on April 16 the U23s travel to play at SV Meppen. Kick-off is at 14:00 CET in each case. The matches against Halleschen FC, at 1. FC Kaiserslautern and the home match against SC Verl have not yet been scheduled. On the other hand, the details for the last game of the season at 1860 Munich, have already been set: BVB will play, like all the other teams in the league, on 14 May at 14:00 CET.
