After the narrow but deserved victory against Hoffenheim, Edin Terzic, Marco Reus, Salih Özcan and Julian Brandt gave their take on the game. The match reactions.

Edin Terzic (at the press conference): "We produced a very good performance especially in the first half. We knew that TSG were strong in the challenges and we wanted to ensure they were too late into the challenges by positioning ourselves very well and making the spaces big for them. As a result, we created a large number of scoring chances and kept the opponent very far away from our goal. That was really good. In the second half we gave too many balls away. We were very serious in the way we defended our goal towards the end and handled the situation professionally: that was a good step in the right direction compared to what happened 14 days ago (editor's note: the defeat to Bremen).

Marco Reus (to DAZN): "We performed very well in the opening half, were good on the ball too and created a lot of good situations. It was no longer as good in the second half, because our energy levels tailed off. We needed to run a lot, nobody shied away from that. We can go for 90 minutes and we defended well overall. We needed to be more ruthless going forward and make it 2-0."

Salih Özcan (to BVB TV): "We decided an intense match in our favour. We tried to close down the centre because that's where Hoffenheim's strength lies. The fact we came away with three points makes it all the better."

Julian Brandt (to DAZN and BVB TV): "We played a very good first half. The minor flaw is that we didn't finish it off. It was a bit jittery at the end. We did have the chances to make it 2-0. Not everything worked out for me today. I had could have seen a few situations through better. I'm happy that we won. That comes above all else." (br)
