The draw for the last 16 of the DFB-Pokal, which took place at the German Football Museum, has pitted Borussia Dortmund against VfL Bochum. The match will be played in Bochum between 31 January and 8 February 2023.

BVB came through the opening two rounds thanks to away victories over 1860 Munich (3-0) and Hannover 96 (2-0). VfL Bochum progressed through the first round courtesy of a 3-0 triumph away to Viktoria Berlin before beating SV Elversberg 1-0 away from home to book their place in the last 16.

The two teams have only faced off once in the DFB-Pokal before: they went head-to-head in March 1983, with BVB winning the tie by a 3-1 scoreline after extra-time.

The eight quarter-final matches will be spread across four matchdays. The quarter-final participants will be determined on 31 January or 1/7/8 February 2023.

Maria Asnaimer of TuS Lohauserholz-Daberg was the special guest for the draw on Sunday. (cr)
